Internship Overview:
This internship is built for curious, motivated students who want to dive into the fast-moving world of retail real estate. You’ll work side by side with experienced professionals and see how real deals take shape, from first conversations to signed leases. Most of your time will be spent with our retail brokerage team, giving you real-world exposure to leasing, tenant representation, property management, and marketing. Whether you’re more interested in the numbers or the people side of the business, we’ll shape the experience to match your goals, both in the office and out in the field.
Location: Birmingham, AL
Duration: 8 weeks (June 1, 2026 – July 31, 2026) Paid Internship
Eligibility: College juniors or seniors (undergraduate or graduate)
What You’ll Learn & Do:
- Assist in site selection for national retail tenants
- Participate in market tours and gain in-market exposure
- Research market data, demographics, and industry trends
- Learn all deal types and understand the flow of a commercial real estate transaction
- Learn the components of a client tour book and what tenants require
- Explore AI applications in commercial real estate
- Update and maintain internal prospect databases
- Contribute to projects across multiple departments
- Attend team meetings and engage in company activities
Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to conduct market research and interpret data
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable learning CRM or database systems
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment and think creatively
- Business-related major preferred (Real Estate, Finance, Marketing, Economics)
- AI experience a plus
